We collect as little as possible, keep it only as long as it is useful, and never sell it.

What we collect

When you reserve a place we collect your name, your email address, the number of places you request and any notes you choose to add, such as access or dietary needs.

When you join the mailing list we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name.

When you propose a reading through Take the Stage we collect the details you enter in that form, including your biography, links to your work and any access needs.

Why we use it

Reservation details are used to manage the guest list for a specific edition, to contact you about that evening, and to prepare the room for any needs you have told us about.

Mailing list details are used only to tell you about upcoming editions and occasional news from the house.

Proposals are read by the small team who programme the evenings, and are used to consider you for a future edition.

How long we keep it

Reservation records are kept for up to twelve months after the edition, so that we can plan capacity and remember who has attended.

Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.

Proposals are kept for up to two years so we can return to work we admired but could not programme immediately.

Who can see it

Only the people who run Casa do Sarau. We use standard hosting and database services to store the information securely, and we do not sell, rent or share it with advertisers.

Photography

We photograph editions for the archive. Readers and performers are always asked in advance. If you appear in an image and would prefer it removed, write to us and we will take it down.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you by writing to ola@casadosarau.com. We will respond within thirty days.
